Hey guys! Today I thought I'd share my experience with my weight and how I shed 10 pounds in a month. Let's begin.
Before summer, I weighed 121 pounds. I maintained this weight by exercising twice a week and eating moderately. I was actually pretty content with my weight and just wanted to keep it like that. Anyways, I started losing weight in July when I went to Las Vegas. The reason why is because at Las Vegas, I would really eat one complete meal a day, and I would also average 6 miles everyday of walking while I was there. Of course, we all know that Las Vegas is SCORCHING hot, so I sweat a lot there as well. I lost five pounds in a week which was scarily crazy and really unhealthy. But after this, I started getting really obsessed with my weight, and wanted to lose more. Unfortunately for me, all the weight I lost at Las Vegas came back when I went on a cruise at the end of August (LOL). I knew it would happen though so I wasn't surprised. The last time I worked out in a legit sense was on the cruise. I haven't worked out since. But since the cruise, which was about a month ago, I've lost ten to eleven pounds. I currently weigh 110-111 pounds; it varies day to day. So without working out, how did I lose that much weight? It's really all because I got a damn part time job. And also because of a change in my diet. Let me explain. I work at a boba shop as a cashier and barista. Since school started (I'm a senior in high school, in case you don't know), I've only been working the night shifts. In those night shifts, a big part of the shift is cleaning the shop when we close. There was a lot of physical strain involved; I was constantly lifting heavy items like chickens from the freezer and big bags of creamer. I mop the entire store as well. Whenever I work these shifts, I tend to eat a lot less as well. Most of the time, I would only eat one complete meal a day, because my shifts are from 5 PM to 10 PM, and I would usually get home at 10:15. When I get home that late, I really don't feel like eating much, because I would be going to bed immediately after. In general, when I don't have work I'll eat a hearty dinner consisting of rice, meat and veggies, but on the nights that I do have work, I'll skip the rice and just eat a bit of meat, but mostly veggies. Also related to my diet is what I now eat for breakfast and lunch. Prior to my senior year, I would eat leftovers for breakfast (usually carbs) and a meaty sandwich for lunch. Now, I eat oatmeal and only bring fruits and veggies to school for lunch, including carrot sticks, tomatoes, and grapes, and occasionally I'll bring some protein in the form of cashews or sliced turkey. After school, if I'm hungry I'll grab some leftover veggies. As you can see, I'm really cutting down on the carbs and the amount of meat I'm eating, and all this definitely contributed to my weight loss. In this way I cut down on my calorie intake, especially on the days that I'm working. I'm eating healthier and also "exercising" at work due to all the physical activity of making drinks and lifting heavy items. So everything combined lead to me losing weight! Hope you enjoyed reading. Happy Sunday!
