Birthday card #3
I made this adorable little birthday card for my friend who is turning 17 very very soon. Before I get into the details, I'd like to mention that this is my very first project using a tablet. All my other creations and posts on this website were made with a laptop and a mouse.
My friend is obsessed with dogs, so of course I had to include a little puppy on the design. I tried to make the dog a corgi but honestly it doesn't really resemble one, because I wanted to make it cute and not realistic, if that makes sense. Also, I know it's the middle of summer, so don't ask me why the puppy is wearing a scarf (lol). After drawing out the dog, I thought there was too much negative space, so I also included a baby pink heart as the background. It was extremely difficult choosing a font for this card. I finally decided to go with " peach sundress ~ ", a font I found on the 1001 fonts website. I thought it worked pretty well with this design, especially after I filled in the gaps and holes of the letters with white paint. As for the color scheme, it was quite all over the place. You got the pink of the heart, the orange and white of the puppy, and the blues of the scarf. As you can see, I also outlined everything in black, which I thought gave the card a cleaner look. For the same reason, I didn't give the background any color; I kept it white. *all elements were made by me *I used Medibang Paint Pro and FireAlpaca *I used an Ipad Pro to draw out the elements and a Macbook to add in the text and format it as a card cover *Want to print it out?
